During summer 2022, The Coding School's Qubit by Qubit initiative and the
University of Arizona's Office of Societal Impact teamed up with Girl
Scouts of Southern Arizona to offer the world's first-ever, free,
all-girls quantum computing camp: Quantum Quest. This partnership is
generously supported by the University of Arizona researcher, Dr. Zhenshen
Zhang, through the broadening participation component of the National Science
Foundation award OIA-2134830. TCS is looking forward to summer 2023 for another
incredible year of developing female STEM leaders with University of Arizona
and the Girl Scouts!
Partnered with IBM Quantum and taught by MIT and Oxford quantum researchers, Qubit by
Qubit led the first ever global quantum computing course for high school students and
above. In this year-long course, over 7,500 students from 125 countries learned skills
in quantum mechanics, quantum computation, quantum algorithms and even ran code on a
real quantum computer!
Featuring 21 speakers across 7 panels, the QxQ Diversity in Quantum Computing Conference
is a one-day virtual event dedicated to creating an inclusive, diverse, and equitable
future of quantum computing. We are proud to say over 2,200 attendees from 65 countries
joined us for these important conversations. Conversation topics ranged from actionable
inclusion strategies, policy discussions, and educational initiatives to authentic,
vulnerable discussions about confidence, allyship, and lifting up others in the space.
Educators, tech leaders, policy makers, and researchers took the stage to discuss how we
all can work together to make quantum computing diverse and inclusive-- starting today.
With applications in nearly every industry, including healthcare, cyber security, and climate change, quantum computing is revolutionizing technology as we know it. Qubit by Qubit is hosting a FREE 4-day introductory course exclusively for HBCU students to learn about this emerging technology. Students will participate virtually in daily lectures, labs, and panels with leading quantum experts in industry and academia. January 4-7, 2022
In partnership with the Sydney Quantum Academy, Qubit by Qubit held a week-long summer camp in Sydney Australia for high school seniors. Students learned about quantum mechanics, quantum coding, quantum algorithms, quantum hardware, applications of quantum computing, and more.
Sponsored by Google AI and IBM Quantum, QxQ developed the first of its kind Quantum Camp
for High School Students. With nearly 300 high school students from diverse backgrounds
- 53% female; 43% low SES; and 40% students of color - MIT PhD researchers led this
intensive week-long camp exposing students to quantum computing and teaching them
tangible quantum skills. Students loved the camp: 98% said they would recommend the camp
to a friend; 93% liked or loved the camp; and 88% are interested in studying quantum in
Join us for a free, interactive "Introduction to Quantum Computing" workshop developed and led by MIT PhD Dr. Sarah Goodman! You will be one of the first high school students to learn about this emerging technology that will change the world. We'll discover the differences between quantum and classical computing, explore quantum physics phenomena, and examine the applications of quantum computing in fields like cybersecurity and finance. Stay tuned for more workshop dates in Fall 2021.
Be one of the first middle school students in the world to learn quantum computing - the technology that will change the world as we know it today! Join us for a free "Introduction to Quantum Computing" workshop for middle school students. In this interactive session developed and led by MIT PhD Dr. Sarah Goodman, we'll learn about the quantum world and how it is being used to make the most powerful computers ever - quantum computers! Stay tuned for more workshop dates in Fall 2021.
