mmersion: Training & Internship Program
Registration for summer 2024 EQCI program has now closed. Submit interest for the Summer 2025 Program below.
Grades: University
EQCI is a first-of-its-kind program designed to bring together a
diverse cohort of undergraduate students interested in learning
about the field of quantum computing.
This introductory program will equip students with
foundational quantum computing skills, in addition to general
skills for an internship, including professionalism and
research skills.
Then students will be paired with a host organization to work on
a
real-world quantum computing project
.
Last summer, host organizations included IBM Quantum, Google AI,
bp, Unitary Fund, and Qunnect.

This is a first-of-its kind course designed to make quantum computing accessible to high school students and above. With live instruction and hands-on labs, students have the chance to learn from industry experts and join a global community of future STEM leaders. Quantum computing will impact industries from healthcare to finance to cybersecurity, and we want today's high school students to be prepared to lead the next computing revolution.

participation component of the National Science Foundation

Oxford quantum researchers, Qubit by Qubit led the first ever
global quantum computing course for high school students and
above. In this year-long course, over 7,500 students from 125
countries learned skills in quantum mechanics, quantum
computation, quantum algorithms and even ran code on a real
quantum computer!

Featuring 21 speakers across 7 panels, the QxQ Diversity in
Quantum Computing Conference is a one-day virtual event
dedicated to creating an inclusive, diverse, and equitable
future of quantum computing. We are proud to say over 2,200
attendees from 65 countries joined us for these important
conversations. Conversation topics ranged from actionable
inclusion strategies, policy discussions, and educational
initiatives to authentic, vulnerable discussions about
confidence, allyship, and lifting up others in the space.

Quantum Computing Winter Intensive for Undergrads (2022 & 2023)

Sydney Quantum Academy Summer Camp (2022 - present)
In partnership with the Sydney Quantum Academy, Qubit by Qubit held a week-long summer camp in Sydney Australia for high school seniors. Students learned about quantum mechanics, quantum coding, quantum algorithms, quantum hardware, applications of quantum computing, and more.
Quantum Computing Summer Camp (2020 - present)
Sponsored by Google AI and IBM Quantum, QxQ developed the
first of its kind Quantum Camp for High School Students. With
nearly 300 high school students from diverse backgrounds - 53%
female; 43% low SES; and 40% students of color - MIT PhD
researchers led this intensive week-long camp exposing
students to quantum computing and teaching them tangible
quantum skills. Students loved the camp: 98% said they would
recommend the camp to a friend; 93% liked or loved the camp;
and 88% are interested in studying quantum in the future.
